Dr Kerry Gunn

Clinical Lead, Critical Haemorrhage QI Program, Auckland DHB, Auckland, NZ
My clinical interest is in liver transplant and trauma anaesthesia. I chaired the Auckland DHB Blood Transfusion Committee, and has been involved in research and projects to improve logical use of blood, coagulopathy and trauma related haemorrhage and perioperative Coagulation monitoring A core area has been the perioperative treatment with IV Iron of anaemia resulting from surgery. I manage the ADHB Perioperative Iron Clinic.  I sit on the National Blood Authority of Australia Patient Blood Management Steering Committee and the ANZ Massive Haemorrhage Registry steering group. I have been appointed clinical lead for the national critical haemorrhage project for the HQSC/NTN to develop a peer agreed guidance for the exsanguinating trauma patient.
