Geriatrician, Health NZ - MidCentral, Palmerston North, NZ
I am an acute care Geriatrician working in Palmerston North Hospital's Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit, a 32 bed ward for acute medical care in individuals with Frailty. I am also the Clinical Lead for the Fracture Liaison Service in the Midcentral district. I am interested in acute care pathways for older adults with Frailty, including Falls and Trauma

Low Impact Falls: Moving Beyond Mechanism of Injury in Trauma Care

​A Geriatrician's perspective on Falls in Frailty, a classic Geriatric Syndrome which is increasingly represented in individuals suffering major Trauma in our communities. We will discuss why this has become such a significant issue, and how our systems can change to meet the needs of our patients.
