Sharlene is the Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist at Te Matau Maui, Hawkes Bay, undertaking this role in 2020.
Sharlene has a strong back ground in Emergency Nursing and a passion for all things Trauma and education. In her current role Sharlene has been involved with National trauma quality improvements and working groups transitioning recommendations to her local Hospital. Sharlene is a member of the Trauma National Clinical Network rehabilitation and transitions of care Ropu, a Trauma Nurse Core Course and New Zealand Resuscitation Council instructor. Sharlene lives in the sunny Hawkes Bay where fabulous wines are made. She loves spending time with family and friends enjoying both of these. |
Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Verification: A Regional Experience
Verification is a process that is critical to meet standards and set new benchmarks for trauma care and commitment in New Zealand. Within New Zealand a minority of trauma care providers have undertaken the process. We will provide you with an overview of the verification process, the components of verification and the central region trauma network experiences of verification, concluding with challenges for the National Trauma network with reference to verification as a national standard for trauma care providers.
