Getting There

• Walk: It’s easy to walk from the city centre to the convention centre.
• Bus: Most buses stop along Courtenay Place and Willis Street. The convention centre is just a few minutes’ walk away.
• Train: It takes 20 minutes to walk along the waterfront from the station.
• Taxis: Wellington Combined Taxis have a stand outside.
• Bikes and kick scooters: We have bike and scooter racks. Borrow a scooter padlock for free at the coat and bag check at the Museum.

Parking
Te Papa has plenty of parking spaces and offer a special day event attendees rate of $12.00. Day hourly parking rate is $3.50 and night hourly is $2.00 from 5pm to 2am the next day. Rates for parking are inclusive of GST. A car parking validator will be at the Registration Desk so bring your ticket in and pass it through the machine to validate it. When you depart go to a pay station and the flat $12.00 rate will apply.

​In An Emergency
If the building is evacuated, red lights on the ceiling will flash in major exhibitions and in most toilets. Alarms will also sound. Hosts will guide you to the nearest emergency exit.
